The Lost Glory.

There was a time when Indian hockey team is considered as "Strong" contender and obvious winner in any major event, and there is time when the same team is "Dark Horse" and "No Threat" to other country in any of the event, Isn't it shame that the 6 time consecutive Olympic gold medalist and total of 8 golds(Most by any country till date) in Olympics is struggling and playing qualifiers to get in Olympics.

So what's the actual reason of this tremendous downfall, couple of reason which i shortlisted are..

1) Cricket overshadowing hockey.
2) Negligence of Indian Hockey Federation.
3) No interest in hockey
4) No monetary gain.

Let's take a look of what and how Indian cricket is affecting Indian hockey, though hockey is national game but cricket is most watched, loved and played all across India, and why is that? The answer is simple, Cricket and cricketers deliver results, we can debate that Indian team is not consistent, but we can count the achievements and far as hockey is concerned i really don't see hockey team winning any major event, as mentioned earlier hockey team is even struggling hard to get into Olympics. I really admire BCCI to cash any chances they get to make money and uplift the game, IPL is current example but for me the best example was the song of "Chak de india", We heard "chak de" song every time when there were some wicket or boundaries in T-20 WC, and crowd just went berserk every time when they hear the song, and on the other hand indian hockey didn't even use it although the whole movie was on hockey, Ironical huh, So i deny the first option, Cricket is obviously not overshadowing hockey but there's always window for argument.

Now let's move to second option, is it the negligence of Indian hockey federation? well i second that, now when IHF is dismissed and "Hockey India" is governing body of indian hockey team, we can expect some good results, But before "Hockey India", IHF tried to revive hockey by starting Premier Hockey League(PHL) and people did watch that event, but it lasts for 3 years only(2005-2008), i'm not sure about PHL-2009 and PHL-2010 because i didn't heard about it and assuming it's over and obviously that was not good for Indian hockey, but people in IHF did make some money and even they can't deny it, but there wasn't enough money to pay the salary of hockey players, and this comes out couple of months ago, what a shame..

I'm left with last two options, "No interest in hockey" and "No monetary gain", Well as far as interest is concern i mentioned earlier that crowd is not going take any interest if you don't deliver results, so let there be result and people will take interest in game, but some can again argue that when there's no interest, there's will be no result, Well one leading bike company is promoting Hockey world cup advertisement in India, let's just hope that more and more people turn up to see this beautiful game. Regarding fourth option which is money then i think yes this is big issue, but i like to mention Indian cricket team before 1983, their condition was almost same(No money), but as they won world cup loads of opportunity widens for them and they absolutely cash it and cashing it till now. I just want Indian hockey team to cash some opportunity and really want to wish them best of luck for upcoming "Hockey World Cup"...

Carnage, Blame, Decision, Conclusion

It was next big terrorist attack after 26/11 carnage in mumbai, Victim city is pune and the target was our favorite hangout place "German Bakery", i wonder what are the places where you can stay safe and the result is almost none. Whether you're in mumbai, pune, delhi, bangalore, ahmedabad or any other city the fear and panic is always with you.

Now the million dollar question is "What option do we have?",initially kashmir and mumbai were the favorite place for terrorist to create panic, and people from other state refrain to go to these places, specially kashmir but some people can argue about that it's not true statement(not to go mumbai atleast) but yes i thinked twice to shift to mumbai but hey "man got to eat" and at that time only mumbai was my only choice, but in last years they shifedtheir strategies and targeted A-tier and B+ tier places to create havoc, so we tend to think a bit and the result is to blame government over a glass of whiskey or anything which make you high ;)

I also heard when you blame someone, just try to put yourself in that situation, so whenever i blame government i do the same, i portray myself as home-minister or defence-minister or prime-minister and try to take decision, My first option would be war which seems to be the easiest way to sort this out, but being the head of this country(remember i'm portraying bigwig of country) i strongly disbelieve that wasting so many soldiers life for almost nothing is definitely not the option. Second option will definitely be talk which is what our leaders are and were doing for last so many years and we know the result, so in-tot i actually cannot make any decision, so i stop blaming government in that.

Some say to retaliate just like USA did in iraq, afganistaan, and same people say that there's no morality, humanity or anything left in USA, why so ambiguous thoughts and what are we chasing or want to do? I'm desperately waiting for the moment when this all will be over but i don't see in near future, at-least not in my life-time so i guess we've to wait till doomsday.

Weekend Fun

I vivdly remember it was 16th january(saturday, Yeah we have office on saturday also :( ) when alok sir told me to go somewhere in weekend, My response was obviously yes, but i and one of my ex senior (abhishek sir) was little bit shocked and happy to hear that alok sir is planning for some trip, so we cannot cancel or postponed that plan in any way, although according to abhishek sir it has always been alok sir who spoil the plan..lol

So me and abhishek sir made plan to go ganpati-phule which is denied by alok sir which is obvious as we didn't have much time to go and return from there, some more ideas came up in our mind but eventually it was beauty and beaches of kashid which we finalize, we asked some more guys and finally 3 more get interested and those were abid, dinesh sir and prashant sir(another ex senior) but he changed his plan at very last moment and asked another colleague sushant and he replied positively..

So it was 23rd jan when we decided to start our journey, the plan was to meet alok sir and abhishek sir at dinesh sir place and abid will come to my place, I didn't have enough sleep but when i woke up by 5:30 i was feeling pretty fresh obviously because of excitment, abid came to my place at 6:15 and we left to dinesh sir place and met alok sir and abhishek sir waiting outside dinesh sir place, which obviously suggest that dinesh sir and sushant is late (Bad start) nevertheless after uncountable phone calls they woke up and we left for sushant place as he didn't have his luggage with him, his flat was pretty far but luckily enroute to panvel, so after all waking up and packing up we 6(me and abid on my pulsar 180, alok sir and sushant on alok sir discover and abhishek sir and dinesh sir on abhishek sir's pulsar 150.. all in HAMARA BAJAJ ;D ) left from sushant place to kashid..

We haven't reached panvel yet when i crave for tea as i didn't had tea since i woke up, but as we were pretty late in entering outskirt so i stopped my craving just before 9-10 kms before penn but eventually ask everyone to take break and had some breakfast, but abhishek sir suggested that we should take break at penn or Vadkhal naka for which everyone unanimously agreed but as soon as everyone saw some small tea shop just before penn we broke abhishek sir's agreement and stopped there to have garma garam tea and kanda bhajji, we started to take some photographs which is obviously not gonna end till we come back to mumbai on sunday. After breakfast we again started our journey but we covered only 4-5 km when dinesh sir feels nature calls and we again have to stop at vadkhal naka, now to kill time we again took some pics and had some halka-fulka breakfast..

After 15-20 minutes we again pack our bags and accelerate towards kashid, the road was beautiful, clean and non-bumpy till alibaug but after that it was mess till we took stop on bridge, there we posed in all ways and clicked loads of snaps and eventually end up clicking 50 odd pics :), it was almost 4 hour since we left from mumbai so we agreed to stop our bikes at hotel only, we take approx 1 hour to reach kashid from there and then i took everyone to hotel where i stayed in my last visit, we did some negotiation for rooms but eventually we get good deal.. It was 12 in noon at that time, we got fresh and decided to go to murud jalzeera fort as it was only 30 kms from kashid, we again hit road and reached fort in less than one hour, the heat was really on but we didn't care because we were busy admiring the beautiful achitecture and engineering of that fort, We were like WTF and how the hell can anyone build fort in mid of water and mind it that fort is 900 year old, anyways our photo session was on and within 1 hour we completed our photographs quota. It was 2'O clock in noon and we were starving so we quickly move from fort and had some lunch, it wasn't delicious but man got to eat..

We were back at hotel in 1 hour and decided to chit chat as there was no point going to beach in afternoon, the hotel guy asked whether we would like to have dinner or not and if yes what would you like because he has to prepare everything, so we decided to had some fish, chicken and veg stuff in dinner and that was out big mistake(I'll come back to this later), It was 5'O clock when we decided to move to beach, we had our beach clothes(short, t-shirt etc) and we move to beach, We reach there at right time as we had ample of time of click some beautiful snaps of sunset, we played a lot, clicked a lot of snap and enjoyed a lot in 3 hours, by the time sun sets completely we were exhausted like anything. we had lot of tea, omelette, maggi to freshen up.. We were back to our hotel by 8 in night took some time to fresh(Need to clean all the mud from beach from every part of the body :D ) and then we started to play some cards, Now the big question comes that what game we should play, some were in the favour of "29", some were in "dehla pakkad" and some were in "bluff" but eventually we decided to play "teen patti" and finally me and abhishek sir ended up winning the pot, Now in between we played cards we had our dinner and i can tell you that we tasted the shitiest food in whole universe in that hotel(Well last time i didn't opt for dinner so i had no idea), so we ordered some biscuits to complete our apetite.

After the damn food and cool card session we plan to go to beach again just to see the darkest of darkest night, and it was really very dark but who care when you were out to enjoy with your friend, we didn't forgot to bring the camera and we did what we always do best i.e POSING ;), we were back to our hotel by 2'O clock and some of the guys went to sleep and some opted to talk about company and how company is screwing us(I was one of them :D ) eventually our body signalled that we need some rest and finally we hit bed at 4'O clock, We did nothing special in morning, just had our tea which is again the shitiest tea i ever tasted and packed our bags to return to mumbai.
